I support individuals in their own home, as well as assisting trips out. I can help with a range of everyday tasks, alongside being a listening ear and a friendly face. Your help at home package will be tailored to your needs and can include any of the below services.

Remembering to take medication correctly isn't always easy. Especially for those individuals with a cognitive impairment. I can provide reminders over the phone or in person, pick up prescriptions, and assist in organising a dosette box if required.

 

I am unable to administer medications directly.

It is well know that loneliness is common amongst the elderly population, and can have a detrimental effect on wellbeing. Companionship may mean something different to each individual, whether its a chat over a cup of tea, a walk outdoors, baking, or accompanying on appointments and trips out.....the list is endless!

For those who are mobile enough to go out, I can provide transport and assist with getting around the shops. Alternatively, I can work with you to order online for home delivery.

It is well known that eating a balanced diet and nutritious food helps to maintain well-being and overall health. From light lunches to main meals, we can cook together, or you can let me do this for you.

Admin may include assisting with paperwork, bills, use of a smart phone or home appliances, booking appointments, organising calendars, getting online, placing orders, card writing/gift wrapping. I will assist with any support needed, and aim to relieve some anxieties that may be associated with the day to day running of the home.

I will be happy to support you with any general household cleaning and laundry needs. All I need is for you to supply the products. 

 

If a more specialised deep clean is required, then I can assist you in arranging this with a local provider.

1/ Information 

When you make an enquiry, please tell me your requirements, either by phone or by email. If there is a service you require that is not listed, I will be happy to discuss further 

2/ Schedule visits

I can then schedule in visits to suit you and your needs. To ensure flexibility, you pay for the time, meaning each visit can be different to suit your needs. 

3/ Amend

You have the flexibility to change the service you require, and with enough notice, increase visits as needed.

Occupational Therapy Services

Ageing can present challenges that make achieving everyday tasks more difficult, these activities can include any aspect of daily living. 

 

Put simply, as an occupational therapist we aim to identify what each person needs and wants to be able to do, and then helps to find ways of doing it, therefore helping to improve or maintain health, well-being, and independence.  

Falls Prevention

Most slips and falls happen in and around the home. The frequency of falls can usually be reduced or eliminated with even minor changes around the home and the right advice.

Mobility

Mobility is essential for activities of daily living. We can make sure that the mobility equipment you are using is meeting your needs, and offer mobility aids advice.

 

We also offer transfer practice and advice, such as difficulty getting in/out of bed or on/off chair and toilet.

Home Environment Assesment

Environmental assessments aim to reduce risks, and maximise safety and functional independence. We can advise on any additional equipment needs or alterations.

Signposting

We can connect individuals with relevant community resources. These services might include physical and mental health support, as well as broader community programs that contribute to overall well-being.

Post-Hospital Rehabilitation

Following discharge from hospital, we can identify goals that will help maintain, regain, and improve independence using different techniques, changing the environment, and using new equipment.

Equipment

There may be occasions when an aid or a piece of equipment is needed to assist with a task, and aid independence. 

 

We can provide advice on a range of equipment from profiling beds, toileting equipment, personal care equipment, to eating and drinking utensils.
